Tram system in Belgrade has 10 operating routes and longest of them go from Old town til almost end of New Belgrade. 234 trams are now operating on working routes to deliver citizens from point A to point B. Belgrade tram system started operating on 14 of October with horse trams, in June 1894 first electric trams started operating and in 1904 whole tram system consisted of electric trams. Length of whole line network is 131,4 kilometers. Some routes got reduced in previous years and it might have caused serious issues with people. Public transportation in Serbia is essential part of national communication between cities and people. Every day thousands of citizens use public transportation to go around cities and from one city to another. Since Serbia has many small towns and villages, trains also play a significant role in the transportation system in the country. In this research we’ll discuss the importance of public transport, issues with it and how these issues can be solved.
